At least she’ll be in good hands with my brother.

Big sad...but we demand more chebby content now!
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:26 |

SOON.
Or at least with the next couple weeks.

Those feelings will diminish with the first set of elevenses laid in the SS.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:34 |

Ha! You’re probably right.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:36 |

I go back and forth all the time with the E46. I just don’t think I can do it

Nothing wrong with claiming first refusal, but I bet you’ll love the SS.

.....set it on fire
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:51 |

Hey man, just think about how durable those rod bearings will be in the SS....
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:55 |

Ha!
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:55 |

I think you’re right.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:56 |

There are fewer and fewer options that could take these cars’ place.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 15:57 |

Yeah, part of your 12-step program is making sure he shows you all the maintenance bills you escaped as they roll in.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 16:07 |
|
Haha - I made sure he knew up front about the maintenance items I was expecting in the next few years.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 16:08 |
|
LOL - we’re actually going to split the cost of a rod bearing replacement very soon. Will make me feel much better about him buying it.

I think the problem lies in the fact that I’d sell, burn the money on another car or something else, then I’d end up buying a coupe and starting at ground 0...
We have kicked around a “full cleanse” idea. Where we pitch all the cars (except the 02 obvi) and get her the bronco if that is what she wants. Then I get my 911.
In all honesty I don’t see a life where the M3 and a 911 coexist unless I get rich or something. Partially because they are too similar/expensive and partially because that’s just how life is.
I’m a big believer in whoever said “luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”. However I have found that when you are lucky enough to be presented with an opportunity that you have so diligently prepared for...there is often a final test/hurdle/reach.
E.g., “ok duder, here is your dream 02, you’re in a position to buy it, wife is on board, the car is under budget buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut it’s in Amsterdam...How bad do you want it?”
We all know how that one ended. I just have this feeling when I finally find my P car, the catch will be the sacrifice of the M3 in one way or another.

4 door E92 is best M3.

The truth of the matter is “forever card” rarely are, as much as we might like them to be.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 16:21 |

Hard for me to disagree. End of an era car, for sure.
sedan = E90

Austin’s not nearly as far as Amsterdam...
![]() 09/23/2020 at 16:30 |
|
Oh I know you did , but when the pangs start, it’s not a bad thing to remind yourself of the bad you missed along with the good.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 16:35 |

What is in Austin? It is funny, that purchase really shrunk my world view of cars. Now when I see a car is clear across the country, I’m like “lol, so?” Even when they’re abroad I use my “should I try to buy/transport a car from this country” flowchart.

set me free then
![]() 09/23/2020 at 17:01 |

The SS, and my brother, conveniently.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 17:02 |

Oh, you didn’t get the memo?
Fly free, little Nibbs...
![]() 09/23/2020 at 17:03 |

#TrueFacts, but it still probably would be
cheaper in the long run to keep the M3. We’ll see how well the SS keeps its value.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 17:19 |
|
It keeps its value as long as you keep it in your garage and in good condition (which of course you will) . This wasn’t an investment purchase anyway.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 17:20 |

Says the man who bought 20 cars in 20 years, or whatever crazy stat you’ve recently
achieved. LOL
![]() 09/23/2020 at 17:26 |
|
No, it’s not. That’s just gravy if that turns out to be the case. I definitely
got what I paid in enjoyment from the M3 in
the past 8 years.
I see driving it
3-4 days
per week, mostly in nice weather, and putting around 8000 miles a year on it.

You are a true gentleman!
![]() 09/23/2020 at 17:54 |

Just watch - we’ll crack that thing open and the RBs will be
pristine
...
![]() 09/23/2020 at 18:21 |

And I loved them all! Well, maybe not all of them.
![]() 09/23/2020 at 18:33 |

Derp. I knew that......
![]() 09/24/2020 at 07:52 |

YAY thanks

Long be long, m’kay?
![]() 09/24/2020 at 09:10 |

So, you really should make a list for Oppo from most to least loved (and why).
![]() 09/24/2020 at 14:16 |

Oh my. I’d have to break it into chunks. I guess I could start a series of posts. That could be somewhat interesting.
![]() 09/24/2020 at 14:38 |

I’d really enjoy it, when you have the time.
